Supporting Child Care And Dealing With Disasters Discussion

Each Unit you are required to respond to one discussion question from each of the chapters/topics covered. 

Caregiver’s Role & Program Design (1)

1. Take the Teacher Self-Assessment and read the Suggestions for Moving Forward in Are You a Highly Qualified Emotionally Intelligent Early Childhood Educator.  Write about your thoughts and how you can improve your emotional intelligent in two of the areas.
2. Define how you can use encouraging pretend play and talking to children about minds to support development of children’s understanding of others. 
3. Define the difference between “I need to facilitate the children’s learning.” and “The children need to do better.” as discussed in the Setting an Example article.
4. Discuss several different ways you can make your interactions with children more powerful.
5. Select a couple of the curriculum activities from the notes and discuss how those activities are helpful for children who have difficult home lives.
