Week 8 Project
Query Letter
This week, as you review the data you have collected and analyzed, you will identify a journal which would potentially be interested in your findings. The assignment this week is to create a query letter. Your goal is to write to the editor to explain your project outcomes and determine if he or she would be interested in reviewing the completed manuscript. You will create that manuscript in the next course.
As you review potential journals, you will notice that not all journals request this type of letter. For the purpose of this assignment, you must write a formal letter with a full explanation about the project and outcomes.
As a remider, these are the items that should be addressed as you write your letter:
Keep it brief, one page if possible.
Use a formal tone and address your letter to the editor by name.
Mention why you selected this journal and how the content would be of interest to their readers.
Describe your project and outcomes, and explain the importance of your findings to DNP practice and nursing.
Ensure careful use of grammar and clear communication of ideas.

Week 10 Project
Final Paper
This week, you will submit your final course paper. Your paper should include all sections from the previous two courses, as well as this course. Each section should reflect the revisions suggested by faculty. Download a suggested format and minimum expectations for your final course paper.
Project Title 2
Project Premise Document
Introduction (Including Thesis Statement, Scope, and PICOT Question)
• Purpose or rationale for the scholarly project: Provide an evidence-based explanation of why it is necessary to complete your scholarly project and what benefit will be gained (health promotion, fiscal, or efficiency).
• Background on the problem or population of interest: Using primary sources, provide data on your topic. Providing the background will demonstrate the focused need for your project.
• Significance of the problem to nursing and healthcare: State how your problem or population of interest aligns with the larger interest of healthcare in the community. Create a context to why your topic is important.
• Benefit of the project to practice: State what will be gained from your project. Describe the expected outcomes of your project to practice within your population and setting. Relate the outcomes to evidence-based guidelines and outcomes. Describe how your project may influence other populations or settings.
• PICOT question: This may be incorporated earlier in the paper. Your clinical question should be clear to the reader.
• Scope of the project: State the scope of your project.
Review of Literature
• Theoretical framework: Describe any theoretical or conceptual frameworks that serve as a guide for your project, summarize the framework, and explain how the framework relates to and provides support for your problem or population of interest.
• Synthesis and analysis of evidence (research) related to the population or problem of interest: Address the overall strengths, weaknesses, limitations, and gaps of the research. It is very important that this section provide a comprehensive review of the literature and be a minimum of 8 pages.
Methods
• Overview of the Approach/Design: This section should make clear to the reader the manner in which you intend to approach the clinical question and the techniques and logic that you will use to address it.
• Site, Agency, or Participant Information: This section should include a description of key information related to the practicum site and key variables that describe any participants (often called the sample) whom you wish to include in your project.
Project Title 3
• Methods: What will you do? Nurses or other healthcare professionals may wish to replicate your work in their settings. When others replicate your work, it allows for verification of your findings, an opportunity for improved quality, safety, or finances in another setting, or the potential for collaboration with colleagues who share your same interests. To make results verifiable, you need to give a complete and accurate description of the techniques that you will be using for your project. This section should be clear, direct, and to the point, while including all information.
Ensure that your methods describe a clear and feasible time frame.
• Instruments: What instruments will you use? What evidence or research exists for the instruments? Have they been determined to be valid or reliable? If so, for what groups? If you are using an instrument or tool that has not been well studied, ensure that you provide evidence to justify its use in your project.
• Data Collection: Are there any other points of data that you will be collecting that have not previously been mentioned? The emphasis in this section should be on fully describing specifically what data you will be using in your study. Part of the purpose of doing this is to detect flaws in the plan before they become problems in the research.
• Data Analysis Plan: How will you analyze your data? This section should explain in some detail how you will manipulate the data that you assembled to get at the information that you will use to answer your question. When describing statistical tests, ensure that you have specified the appropriate information, such as the significance level and type of confidence interval (one- or two sided). Additionally, describe what meaning the output of any statistical tests will help answer and how it relates to your population/patient, intervention, comparison, outcome, and time (PICOT)/clinical problem.
