After reviewing the preceding web pages, indicate on the Informatics/Technology Self-Assessment Table (Word) which level user you are in each of the Competency categories. Refer to this Example Technology Self-Assessment Table while completing your assignment.
When you have completed your self-assessment table, access the following self-tests (the link is on the right side of the page) and record your score on the Technology Self-Assessment Table.
Complete Self-Tests

Take the typing speed test from speed typing online and then complete the keyboarding rubric (Word).
Complete the communications and web knowledge rubric (Word).
Total your scores for each rubric and save them for your records. Document these values on the Informatics/Technology Self-Assessment Table (Word).
If you score above 32 points (23 on the typing test and 18 on the communications and web knowledge), you probably have the skill level you need. No further action is needed.
If you score between 20 and 30 (19–22 on the typing test and 12–17 on the communications and web knowledge), you have some skill but need more practice.
Review one of the tutorials for the category in which you scored the lowest. Document which tutorials you watched on the Technology Self-Assessment Table.
If you score below 20 (19 on the typing test and 12 on the communications and web knowledge), you need more training and practice.
Review two tutorials on categories in which you scored low. Document which tutorials you watched on the Technology Self-Assessment Table.
Review any other self-assessment or tutorial that interests you.
Upload the completed Informatics/Technology Self-Assessment Table to the File Picker. Please refer to the Grading Rubric for details on how this activity will be graded.
