NI Position
Descriptions
You and your INS
colleagues recently sat through a series of disappointing candidate interviews
for three open positions at your 14 hospital integrated healthcare delivery
network. While your team does not have the authority to hire your input is
requested during the interview and selection process and considered by the
Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO). Your team complained to the CNIO
about the quality of the candidates and their lack of clarity about
expectations for each of the positions. Your CNIO has asked you to review each
of the position descriptions and to provide your analysis of each along with
your recommendations for how the descriptions and interview process could be
improved. The positions in question at this time are for informatics nurse
analyst, informatics nurse specialist, and senior informatics nurse specialist.
The posted job descriptions
for each follow. Your team met briefly to determine the most efficient manner
to address this task. It was determined that each team member would
independently review each position description and formulate recommendations
prior to coming together as a group to discuss findings and draft the report with
recommendations for the CNIO. You are now responsible for drafting that report.
