The company’s co-founders, Burney Sparks, CEO and Carla Crash, COO are having difficulty reaching agreement on a schedule for next season’s roll-out of products. Usually, both individuals are very capable, but recently Mr. Sparks has become quite unsure of himself. This has led to poor organizational decision-making.
Upon interviewing Mr. Sparks, you find that he is currently very self-focused. He shares that he feels very badly because he doesn’t believe he is currently where he would like to be or should be as a leader. He also feels that his skills and abilities are far behind that of his longtime rival Rip Cable. In fact, Mr. Sparks would be very close to retiring and “packing it all in” if he did not feel so supported by and affiliated with his colleague Ms. Crash.
Your objective is to write a proposal for SC Co. to define the problem and describe an intervention that would help address the issue.
