However, smoking together with his teammates and friends is to them a form of solidarity as friends. He is proud of his stamina. He can run straight for an hour without resting. He values his fitness a lot.

2. In Barangay Kabuhayan, you will meet 5 teenagers who are about to give birth and become a parent for the first time in the next 3 months. They all came from a poor family, with parents who didn’t finish their studies. The teens themselves do no know much about the importance of breastfeeding. Though we are now implementing the First 1000 days Law to promote child nutrition, not all is aware what is this for. Breastfeeding can be time consuming especially to young people who do domestic work and helps with productive work to earn a living for the family as well. One striking assessment is that, they all come from a family that values family wellbeing and happiness despite their poor living conditions.

3. In Barangay Bagong Nayon, teenage pregnancy is alarmingly increasing amid the pandemic. The local village governance shifted most of its focus to covid response, and youth health and development program was neglected. The Barangay Chairperson popularly called Lola Valencia is 62 years old. She has 3 grand kids (1 boy and 2 girls) and she loves them a lot. She would do everything to ensure that her grand kids have a bright future. She also values the welfare of young people in her village, in fact, she is the first Barangay Chairperson who opened a Teen Center, but due to the pandemic, it was temporarily transformed to serve as a storage room for food packs (Ayuda).
