What information did you use to decide to pursue an APRN? Is there specific information that helped you understand the role of an APRN?

Describe how using information technology and data mining can affect the quality of health care.

Using two Quality Performance indicators, provide a comparison and contrast  example of how information technology and data have changed patient care outcomes.

DQ1 Conflict in the Workplace

All of us have been involved in various kinds of conflicts related to our work environment. Using a situation that you were involved in, describe the conflict and how it was handled.

Was the outcome positive or negative?

How did the involved parties feel about the resolution, did they feel that they were heard, that their issues were resolved in an appropriate manner?

Based on what you have read in this unit, what could have been done to improve both the situation and the outcome?

Describe professional civility/incivility?

Analyze the impact professional relationships and patient care outcomes?

Synthesize and discuss the incivility literature evidence is available that supports that conflict resolution impacts work environments and patient care?

DQ2 Complimentary Therapy

This discussion has two parts:

Provide a summary overview of the therapy.

What evidence is there about providing care for patients of all cultures.

DQ1 Value of The APRN Model

Outline and discuss a plan to promote the value of the APN model to the public.

Using the latest statistics and evidence, provide a compelling argument and a brief background to the public about why APNP care is essential.

Discuss how you would promote the value of utilizing an APN as a provider of services.

Use data from sources that illustrate how efficient, and cost containing APNPs are versus other health care provider roles. This is not an exercise that diminishes our other colleagues, but one that promotes the value of the APNP role.

DQ2 You have decided to open your own practice – you now need to gain start-up funding. Picture yourself in-front of a group of investors or your local banker –

What will you say to them to convince them that you have a good idea, that your services will be a valuable addition to the community, and that you have the business skills to successfully run a practice?
