The U.S. Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Facility (ADX) is a maximum-security federal prison located in Florence, Colorado. The ADX holds more than 400 offenders and costs $60 million to build. (Guiee, 2014) This facility houses the most dangerous male offenders in the U.S., most of which have sentences of 40 or more years and who will most likely die in prison, (Guiee, 2014).
