Thinking about your proposed study and the upcoming dissertation process, describe ways you might integrate a Christian worldview in the design, data collection and analysis, and reporting phases. Provide specific attention to how you will maintain research integrity throughout the process.

In the study and dissertation process, I advocate for the incorporation of a Christian worldview across various stages to ensure the congruence of research with my faith and the preservation of research integrity. Firstly, in the design phase, detail oriented information will be given to how the research question aligns with Christian values and ethics. This will entail ensuring that the research topic is firmly anchored in ethical principles and contributes positively to societal well-being. Additionally, the framing of the research question will be approached from the standpoint of my Christian worldview. For example, when examining social issues, the design will prioritize perspectives of compassion.

Throughout the data collection and analysis phases, adherence to Christian principles will be paramount. Research participants will be treated with the utmost respect, dignity, and transparency, in accordance with Christian ethical standards. This will involve securing informed consent, upholding confidentiality, and adhering to ethical guidelines to safeguard the welfare of participants. Furthermore, the application of Christian virtues such as patience and empathy in interactions during data collection may positively influence the quality and depth of the acquired data. Finally, in the reporting phase, the dissemination of findings will be conducted with a commitment to balance and transparency. While acknowledging any inherent limitations and uncertainties in the research, emphasis will also be placed on the potential positive impact of the study, especially if it aligns with Christian values. This approach will serve to maintain research integrity throughout the process by upholding Christian ethical standards and promoting transparency, honesty, and fairness in all facets of the study.

My Christian worldview should impact me through the entire dissertation process because my primary goal, as a believer, is to glorify God in all that I do (ESV Study Bible, 2008, Colossians 3:23). In researching my topic, telehealth, I have found that this innovation presents challenges and opportunities to improve healthcare services for vulnerable populations that have suffered from health inequities. My desire to find ways to improve healthcare access for these populations motivates me to conduct this research with integrity and perseverance.

My study design is a qualitative study that will give me the opportunity to ask probing questions of study participants and gain insights to answer my research questions. As I engage participants I must walk in integrity, speak the truth and use fair judgment as indicated from Scripture passages like Psalm 15:1-2; 26:11, and Proverbs 20:7 (ESV Study Bible, 2008). When I collect the data through interviews and transcribing, I will strive for accuracy and truth.

The analysis and reporting of data should be conducted with attention to detail, accurately reflecting the results. I do not want to insert my opinions unless necessary and I need to guard against bias in reporting the results. If some of the results do not support my opinion, I must strive to reflect the results accurately. Research integrity means conducting all phases of the research process with truth and a commitment to excellence and accuracy.
