Purpose:

You folks know A LOT of stuff at this point:

· You know the key concepts of thinking (cascading effects, solutions thinking, dynamic capabilities, human relations in hospitality, etc..…)

· Key course terminology.

· You have learned about different strategies and methodologies to consider intelligence, diversity, and inclusion.

· You have been able to process the data from  Adrift: American In 100 Charts

· You’ve read and viewed the additional course materials along with being engaged in the conversations.

· Now, you are going to use all this valuable information to put together and develop a human relations-based strategic plan for your selected hospitality firm.

Instructions:

For your Capstone Human Relations Project, you will provide a human relations assessment and evaluation of your selected hospitality firm. Key indicators will include problem identification analysis exploring diversity and inclusion along with threading course themes, topics, and materials into your project.

Remember this is really about problem identification and solving in relationship to human relations.

For this project I want you to create a PowerPoint presentation using the following format:

Slide One – your name and appropriate course data and information (3 points)

Slide Two – introduce your selected hospitality firm (5 points)

Slide Three – share a few additional details about your firm (5 points)

Slide Four – how does your firm currently plan for and execute diversity & inclusion programming (7 points)    

Slide Five – SWOT analysis of your selected firm (7 points) 

Slide Six – identify any trouble or weak spots with what your firm is currently doing (7 points) 

Slide Seven – identify two challenges or problems based on your research you would like to focus on (7 points) 

Slides Eight and Nine – what solutions have you developed and designed to solve these problems (25 points) 

Slide Ten – how will the local, regional, national, or international community be impacted by your planning (7 points) 

Slide 11 – how will you’re planning and strategy impact human relations (15 points) 

Slide 12 – connections to the course text (7 points) 

Slide 13 – closing thoughts (5 points) 

Feel free to add additional slides that provide maps, charts, photos, etc…. 

This is really important. For each slide (slides two – 13 you need to add/provide using the note/s option) a 50-word or more narrative sharing additional details or more data/insight to the slide.

Remember I am not asking you to submit a voice over the presentation and you are not verbally presenting this project so the notes are key for you to demonstrate your knowledge of the course materials. In your notes for the slides be sure to incorporate and thread course themes in your work.

These notes for each slide are worth 30% of the slide in question (for example if the points for a slide are worth 10 points and you forget or select to not add notes you would earn up to 7 points for that individual slide)
