A) It is common for the definition of urban Indian identity to revolve around striking a balance between preserving cultural traditions and adjusting to life in an urban setting. Indigenous peoples who relocate to urban regions confront the problem of maintaining their traditional ways of life, including their languages, traditions, and rituals, while also adjusting to the culture that predominates in the metropolitan setting. Their identity is formed as a result of the dynamic interaction between their background and the effects of the city. As a means of preserving their cultural identity, they could take part in powwows, carry out traditional rites, and interact with the local Native American community. At the same time, they manage the realities of urban life, such as job, education, and healthcare, which may necessitate them to adapt or change the cultural traditions they carry out in their daily lives.
A strong feeling of community and an active political stance can also be defining characteristics of urban Indian identity. Native Americans living in metropolitan areas frequently band together to develop support networks and to participate in collective activism in order to solve widespread problems such as discrimination, discrepancies in healthcare, and the reclaiming of land. Their identity is significantly impacted by the importance they place on a feeling of community and activism. To affirm their identity and fight for the rights they are entitled to as Indigenous peoples, they could take part in urban Indian centers, cultural events, or political organizations. Not only does this collaborative effort establish their identity, but it also gives them the capacity to face the hardships of living in the city while still conserving their tradition.

In addition, Lobo had two ways of determining urban identity, the first of which was tribal connection. According to this definition, an urban Indian is a person who belongs to a tribe that has received federal recognition. The premise behind this definition is that tribal enrollment is a political and legal status that bestows specific advantages and rights. Cultural participation was identified as the second aspect of urban identity. According to this definition, urban Indians are those who participate in and identify with American Indian culture. Given that it acknowledges the variety of American Indian experiences, this concept is more inclusive than the tribal affiliation approach.
Indian urban identity is a very complicated and dynamic notion. Numerous things, including as past encounters, cultural norms, and individual decisions, influence it. Despite these obstacles, urban Indians have made major contributions to American society. They are leaders in many different industries and are devoted to maintaining and reviving their respective traditions. I also think that personal experiences and decisions have a role in shaping the identity of Urban Indians. An Urban Indian who was raised in a close-knit tribal group, for instance, would identify very differently from an Urban Indian who was raised in a predominately non-Native community.
